We are pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Hill to the position of Senior Coach of the Dandenong Cricket Club’s Womens Programme for at least the next two seasons.
Paul has previously coached Springvale South and Coomoora in the Dandenong District Competition leading to numerous premierships through the senior grades across approximately 10 years of coaching.
His playing experience includes over 100 games of first eleven cricket with Noble Park at subdistrict level followed by leading one of the primary forces in Turf 1 in the DDCA. A skilled wicketkeeper and batsman he is looking forward to coaching without the distraction of playing and looks forward to building on his skills.
Paul is an Assistant Principal at a Primary School in our region, having come up with a Physical Education background and has an appreciation of all sports and of the benefits
of participation. When asked what he hopes to achieve, Paul said: “I am excited to get started and work with the group. I am told the girls are keen and eager to improve and progress their cricket. I want to share my knowledge and help them gain an understanding of all aspects of the game while building their team culture. Keen to do all of this while continuing to promote fun and innovation in cricket and the modern game. My previous coaching experience allows me to understand what it takes to assist our girls to be recognised within CV pathways.” Michael Findlay said “We are fortunate to appoint a person of Paul’s playing, coaching and work background. He is ideally positioned to embrace the modern game and I feel sure he will be able to pilot our young group to better, more even performances.”
Paul replaces Kaushal Silva who has accepted a position with Hong Kong cricket. We are grateful for the assistance of Ash, Emma, Vanchica and Sophie who have jumped in, planned and maintained our programme to date and ensured we develop a good base leading up to season start.
Paul will commence with us on Sunday 24 August.
