Life membership is awarded to an individual on the basis of exemplary service and dedication. Dependability and a willingness to help others. Megan has demonstrated this having played in excess of 100 games of first eleven cricket and representing herself and Dandenong well at State level playing 66 matches over a 10 year period from 1998 and winning 2 championships in that time.
Megan initially played for Burwood Districts before transferring to Dandenong around 1998-99 when our women were playing as Buckley Ridges CC. She ended with a tally of 144 matches, 1763 runs and 207 wickets at Premier level by the time she retired to raise a family.
Over the following years she stayed in touch with the Club through occasional sessions to help the coaches.
In 2016 she returned on a more formal basis as an Assistant coach to help pilot the Club through the merger with Dandenong CC. During this time she occasionally played to help bolster the strength and add experience to our young squad and piloted the seconds through a couple of years. She no doubt enjoyed the opportunity for long batting stints in the middle whilst she was out there but not the next day.
Megan became the Head Coach and Cricket Manager in 2023 and maintained a strong guiding presence with our junior squads. She was instrumental in the establishment and coaching of our Molineux squad and Pathway teams since she returned in 2016.
She has also coached at the Victorian Pathways level. Megan has been invaluable to our group with her organisation and planning skills, her ability to impart knowledge of the game and as a mentor to girls and young women dedicated to improving their game.
Congratulations on a thoroughly deserved honour Megan.
