We are proud to announce the appointment of Kaushal Silva to the position of Head Coach of the Premier Women’s Program of Dandenong Cricket Club.
Kaushal was an opening batsman who represented Sri Lanka in 39 test matches compiling 3 centuries including one in 2016 that set up a famous victory against Australia. He was also an accomplished wicketkeeper.
Since moving to Australia, amongst other things he has coached Greenvale Kangaroos men, established a thriving private male and female coaching business and is Head of Cricket (including overseeing the female programme) and first eleven coach at Carey Grammar. Of course he also played with us back in 2016 and has a strong desire to return some of the assistance we gave him at that time.
On being appointed Kaushal had this to say about his motivation and goals. “I’m genuinely excited to take on the role of Head Coach of the Women’s Program at Dandenong Premier Cricket Club. Having previously represented the Dandenong Men’s team, this opportunity feels like a meaningful way to give back to a club and environment I greatly valued during my time here.
What draws me to coaching girls is their hunger to learn, their drive to improve, and their consistent desire to be the best version of themselves. That kind of passion is incredibly motivating for me as a coach.
My goal is to build a holistic, high-performance program that develops each player individually while creating a team environment that encourages growth, accountability, and excellence. Ultimately, I’d love to see our players not only thrive at Premier level but also push toward state and national representation.”
We wish Kaushal every success in this vital role.
